Margarita Chli is an Assistant Professor at ETH Zurich, Switzerland, and head of the Vision for Robotics Lab. She received both her BA and MEng in Information and Computing Engineering from Trinity College of the University of Cambridge, UK, and her PhD from Imperial College London. In 2013, she was awarded the prestigious Chancellor’s Fellowship by the University of Edinburgh, and in 2015, the competitive Swiss National Science Foundation Assistant Professorship. Prof Chli received numerous academic scholarships from both Cyprus and Cambridge and continues to hold an Honorary Fellowship from the University of Edinburgh, while she features in Robohub’s 2016 list of “25 women in Robotics you should know about”. Her research interests lie in developing vision-based perception for robots and she participated in the first vision-based autonomous flight of a small helicopter.
